I’m so glad that the universe manifested a stream of energy in today’s era and called it ME !
And you should be thankful, too !
Life a few decades ago must have sucked a bull’s balls – it was a hard time to build your business if you lived in a crappy area and had no money to start your dream.
Well, those times are over – and now the revolution begins. If you are still slaving at a 9 – 5 job, or killing time in college, consider building your own brand. It’s easier than ever. And after reading my 7 reasons, you will be obsessed with a desire to build your own digital career.
Let’s dive straight into the action:
# Work whenever you want
A 9 to 5 is forces you to work at specific times. Even if you feel terrible, and totally useless – you have to show up !
It’s unnatural, and unnecessary by now. Working digitally allows you to work whenever YOU want !
Maybe it’s noon, and your child urges you to throw in a little play session. Or you see your girlfriend coming straight from the shower, and you feel like doing some hot magic with her. Why wait ? Do what you want to do now, and work whenever it’s right for you.
If you need something done, you’ll get it done. Whenever you want to get it done.
# Live wherever you want
Yeah, that doesn’t include North Korea, but honestly, do you really want to live in a communist country that’s controlled by a mentally ill dictator ? I thought so.
Back in the old days, when you wanted to build a (brick and mortar) business, you had to stick to your chosen area.. Even if you hated that area after a while – you were stuck because of your business.
Working just with your PC/notebook/Mac allows you to live (almost) anywhere you want. Maybe you hate your current place. Or you want to live near to your parents. Or you can’t stand Caucasian blondes and cherish black women with narrow eyes – heck – you can go to that promised land !
Take a moment and fully understand this: YOU can build your own digital career from wherever you want. You don’t have to even live in the States to make it big there – you can live at your mommy’s place somewhere in a tiny village in India and create a kick-ass business in the US.
# Enjoy unlimited possibilities
My friend Annabel Candy got headhunted by Coca Cola and brought to Shanghai – first class ! She participated in a conference and got all expenses covered.
Another buddy, Mike CJ, got a speaking gig in rich-ass Monaco. I hope he can concentrate on his speech with all those beautiful women and larger-than-life yachts around him.
Those stories don’t come from a fairy tale book that I stole from my sister – they are real possibilities that happen on a constant basis.
When you build an online business via your blog or website and you build some killer reputation – all kinds of magical things can happen you.
Tell me when YOU get a speaking gig in Hawaii or some other shining places.

# Build shiny friend-and partnerships
This is a direct sequel to the last part. Some of my best relationships come from my online riots – I now know people from Japan, Australia, South Africa, Canada, USA, India and so on. The list keeps increasing. Not only do I build kick-ass friendships, but also mutual partnerships. If I need help with a project, or I want to build something together, I know I can ask EVERYONE from my inner network.
And if I consider traveling to another country, I know which couch I can crash ;)
# Enjoy stability in tough times
The crisis has taught us one thing: your job today might not be there tomorrow ! When tough times attack, unemployment gets famous. Even if you happen to be a good worker – if the company loses bucks, you have to go.
That will never happen if you build a digital career. You become your own boss, and if you play your branding right (you will if you keep reading this blog!), you will build a sustainable career that will last until your last breath.
And don’t forget : When you’re online, you have access to the whole world. If no one needs your services or products in your local area, who cares ? There may be a passionate reader/client from Europe or Asia who craves what YOU got.
Well, give it to them. Digital style !
# charge what you want
There’s no limit on what you can earn. In the digital world, sky’s not the limit – not even space is. You may have to start small, but if you work smart, and you gain reputation, your income will enjoy a steady increase.
Ebooks, courses, membership sites, coaching, ads, webinars, programs, services, movies on demand, Amazon Createspace-self publishing.
Jeez, the possibilities are so exciting they’d resurrect my dead grandma.
I’m sure there are hundreds of other models that work as well. And how about the monetary gain ?
Some digital crusaders manage to make millions online. Even if that’s not your goal, it’s comforting to know that it’s always a possibility ;)
LAST but not least: Control your destiny
Let’s be honest – it sucks to work for someone else. You always have to worry about what others think of you – your colleagues, your boss etc.
Compromise becomes daily habit – and that destroys your unique fire inside.
If you start building your own brand, you will create your destiny right from the start.
You can do whatever you want, whenever you want, however you want !
No compromise, no lay-offs, no bullshit.
Just you and the magic you bring to the world !
Seriously, I could give you a trillion more reasons. But those should be enough for now. Even if you are studying or working now, consider starting something as a part time activity. The holy internet has vaporized all middlemen and has given YOU the possibility to build a digital career (empire ?) from scratch.
