How to Bring Down the Sky !

two robots fighting in the air

Ladies and gentlemen, we’re experiencing awesome times – human beings with endless fire inside and a hunger for creating a new, inspiring world can rock the digital stratosphere !

What the heck are you talking about ?

I started using Twitter a few weeks ago – and I can tell you – I’m addicted like hell. My fingers bleed from typing endless tweets, and I feel like wanting to devour the entire web galaxy !

Every single day I inhale my email inbox – I find more juicy stuff: New comments, new sign-ups from my list, new fan mails and recently more hate-messages. I have started to gain momentum, and I want to increase it, I wanna BLOW IT UP !

ANd you should do the same ! Once you get that guest post published, once you contacted that stunning blogger, go deeper – go crazy. Take the world by storm, and increase your momentum by the minute.

How about this, my friends:

  • Blow your comfort zone to bits and pieces ! Make it a ritual to challenge yourself every single day for the rest of your frickin!’ life ! It doesn’t mean you have to go totally ballistic. No, my friends, it’s enough to contact one blogger/ person a day that’s totally out of your league. Seriously, DO IT.
  • Become a social media tycoon that blows everyone away. Well, sort of. You start as a social media virgin (like me), and after a few weeks on your favorite network, you have created a small. Become a high class social media call girl/boy.
  • Set yourself ridiculous time limits. If you have all day, then that’s how long it will take you. Think about the length of your task, then shorten it and time your efforts. Put a hardcore deadline on everything you do – the time pressure, even an artificial one, is going to get your heart pumped. Small levels of adrenaline rush through your body – your mind is laser-focused and ready to do some serious damage !

Creative damage that is. This blog is a manifestation of endless luv and kick-ass creativity.

So far we know:

Writing kick-ass stuff is essential.

Promoting it is a no-brainer.

Connecting with other Top-players is YOUR LIFEBLOOD !

Basic memory, but easy to forget. That’s why I really want to burn it into that flabby brain of yours.

Connect with your Top-players !

It doesn’t have to be A-list stars, B and C list mavericks are actually better. They are easier to reach, and they probably care more about you, if you care about them. Tweet their stuff, write SPECIFIC messages to them and start making things personal !

Most people get this wrong – they only write and promote their stuff, but they don’t really establish awesome connections !

I have seen many average bloggers with sub-mediocre blogs , but they happen to know influential mavericks. You can guess the effect – If you’re associated with the elite, you will be considered as a part of the elite. Even if not one single inch of your digital soul deserves it – you will still attract comments and traffic like an Ipad launch.

if you know the “right” people.

Let’s hope you create EPIC content first and then start igniting those relationships !

So, set yourself unforgiving deadlines, challenge yourself at least once or twice a day, and network with the Ninjas of your niche.

What I did in the last weeks:

Became a member of the the infopreneur’s weekly writing team.

Won a small contest by David Risley and got featured on his front page post.

Ranked first place at Jonathan Mead’s Bootstrapper Contest at the illuminatedmind.net

Skype-Interviewed Maren Kate from the escapingthe9to5.com

Wrote 2 guest posts for two super-famous blogs, which I can’t mention now, because they get published in 1-2 weeks from now.

And I’m participating in Kiesha’s blog contest, which I can win if you read and RETWEET it !

This sounds like showing off, and it probably is, but the lesson here is that 7 weeks ago, I didn’t know anyone in the online world and now I’m crusading like a fundamentalist on fire. You can do the same.

Listen, in the near future, YOU and ME, we’re going to be a pile of ashes, just like the 80 billions before us.

Can’t you feel it ? Momentum burns as brightly as cosmic fire – and it feels like heaven dancing on earth ! Go higher, keep challenging yourself, and…

Bring down the sky !

Are you with me ??

Retweet and share the fire !

You know what? I am with you.

Speaking of deadlines, I’m going to go hitchhiking for my very first time later today, and I don’t even know if I’m totally prepared. The deadline is there. 5pm here I come!

    • http://www.marsdorian.com/ Mars Dorian

Hey Tim, hitchhiking for the first time ?

Only prepare for a bit, and then jump straight into the action. Awesome stuff with the deadline. But don't make it a one time thing only, apply it daily – you'll be amazed, I promise you !

These are practical and powerful tips Mars. The blow your comfort zone to bits and pieces is #1 in my book.

If you're comfortable, you're dying. This means that you're not changing and since change is the essence of life…..well you get the idea.

In addition to contacting the big players contact EVERYBODY. Hit the big dogs but don't forget about your neighbor who'll be the billionaire one day but who everybody ignored because they weren't one of the players at the time. My cautionary note is not to fall prey to Top Dog syndrome. I see people so desperate to get guys like Chris Brogan to pitch their stuff that they waste hours on end which could have been spent networking with future fellow millionaires/billionaires who'd yet to make their fortune.

I've picked up a number of million dollar ideas from your blog Mars. I've acquired sensational ideas from a 15 year old blogger. Some might have more influence than others in the moment but this is subject to change the next moment.

As always awesome inspiration buddy :)

    • http://www.marsdorian.com/ Mars Dorian

      Hey Ryan,

Million dollar ideas from my blog ? Awesome, could you give like have of it ?

But seriously now, I get what you're saying. That's why I wrote about the B, C and D list bloggers (boy, that sounds a bit degrading). And yes, even though it's fun to talk to everyone, I especially like to network with hungry and creative people – you know the boys and girls who really could make a big splash on the online map. It sounds a bit calculating, but I love to align myself with ambitious Rebels !

  • http://www.ameaningfulexistence.com Karen

    Show off!

I saw you listed on David's site this morning – congrats on that. Knew about the TIP team (as I am ahem, a member myself), but didn't know about all the other stuff.

Oh, to have the energy of the young :-)

    Seriously, nice going!

    • http://www.marsdorian.com/ Mars Dorian

Yep, guilty as charged, Karen ;)

And it has nothing to do with being younger – I think there's a passionate child in all of us. My grandmother turned 87 recently, and she's so fired up it's unbelievable. It's probably about how you perceive the world, and how much joy for life you carry inside !

Mars, I love the passion and energy! And it helps that I agree with what you say.

My major comment is that if we have time to calculate where the other bloggers are listed, we probably aren't working hard enough.

I know your intention is to work with those you respect and agree with and not worry about rank.

    • http://www.marsdorian.com/ Mars Dorian

      Hey Richard,

Yeah, I don't really calculate the status of other bloggers, but if you surf around the net, it's obvious to see who's aiming and/or playing high. I just love those people, probably because I consider myself as one of them, and networking with them is a blast of mutual creativity.

  • http://www.jewelry-secrets.com/ Richard Scott

Flabby Brain? lol Dr. Mars, I Retweeted your post in Kiesha’s Blog. Good luck! You really are on fire. You are ablaze everywhere. I love it. Although that pile of 80 Billion year old ashes is depressing. lol I can't set myself deadlines. I just work until it's finished! :)

    • http://www.marsdorian.com/ Mars Dorian

      Hey Richard,

      Well, double-thanks for that.
Yeah, I want to be everywhere – spread the message of positive fire !
And yeah, to each his own – I love setting time limits, must be a remnant of my video gaming days.

Brother thanks for the mention You're absolutely killing it out here which is why David chose you as a winner, brother your place on my team is well deserved and I've re-tweeted your post over at Kiesha's too

    • http://www.marsdorian.com/ Mars Dorian

      Hey James,

Thanks a double-bunch for retweeting my stuff.
Yep, it's awesome that we got chosen by him. My traffic skyrocketed from being featured on his blog.
And it's a blast to be on your team.
Let's keep the hot momentum flowing !

I've been doing what I call “focus blasts” lately to get a lot done in a short time and it's amazing. Speaking of amazing, wow, you've been burning it up lately!

    • http://www.marsdorian.com/ Mars Dorian

      Hey Jean,

Focus blasts sounds bloody brilliant ! I may have to borrow that term ;)
Yep, but the reason I'm showing this is that you can get a lot done (and reach the pros, too) even if you're fairly new and not yet established. I hope it inspires people !

  • http://www.newmediasideshow.com Marek

Your best post yet Mars! I like the comment about setting crazy time limits to challenge yourself. My best writing always comes when I'm crazy inspired and smashing out like 300 words a minute!

I think you know what I'm talking about, the adrenaline's pumping, the heavy metal's tearing your eardrums to shreds, and 10 minutes later you have some of your best content ever!

    • http://www.marsdorian.com/ Mars Dorian

      Hey Marek,

      thanks-a-bunch. 300 words a minute ? Dude, you're a freaking gatling gun !

Yeah, when you're in momentum, the magic starts to happen. That's why I have to keep and increase it every single day !!

  • http://www.sexycopy.org k0zm0zs0ul

Love the fire Mars! :) And congrats to you for building momentum and doing such awesome things! I'm certain you'll do even greater things in the near future, and it'll be a blast to watch!

    Warm regards,
    C

    • http://www.marsdorian.com/ Mars Dorian

Hey Cori, you haven't seen anything yet.
I want to set the world on creative fire, and judging from your blog, you have something similar ongoing.

      • http://www.sexycopy.org k0zm0zs0ul

True dat! :D We're both on a similar mission it seems, but it's fun to
        connect with like-minded folks!

I can feel the momentum Mars. You are really doing big things! Keep it going dude. I have really enjoyed watching you continue to grow.

Sounds like you've been busy! When the hell do you find time to eat and sleep? Haha, congrats on all your moves though. You really have to be hungry if you want to succeed!

    • http://www.marsdorian.com/ Mars Dorian

I can sleep when I'm dead, lol, but seriously, I believe that hunger overcomes every hurdle.

  • http://www.stevescottsite.com/ Steve Scott Site

Yes, yes, yes! I love it: “Blow your comfort zone to bits and pieces!”

It doesn't matter if we're talking about Twitter, blogging, exercising, or buying a new outfit. If you're never willing to step outside the box and try something new, you'll never know WHAT you could be achieving.

    • http://www.marsdorian.com/ Mars Dorian

      exactly, Scott !

  • http://andbreak.com/ Julius Kuhn-Regnier

Pretty cool. You seem to be doing a lot of stuff man ;) I am glad you are. I have to think about that Twitter thing you mentioned!

It's important to just do something every day, as you've said it's all about being epic ;)

    • http://www.marsdorian.com/ Mars Dorian

Well, it isn't really that much – it sounds way better written down. I want to get more obsessed with it – create more – and better stuff.
I think it should a daily ritual to challenge yourself – every single day.
