How to Brand your Writing Style – the freaking AWESOME Way !

Mars Dorian gesturing wildly

BRAND BRAND ! YOUR WRITING-WRITING STYLE. BRANDING UNTIL THE END OF TIME !

Creating kick-ass blog posts like these is pure, pure fun, and almost, almost better than making sweet luv.

I look through my window right now and think – crap, it’s so sunny, I should go out and get myself a caramel tan rather than lurking inside and writing this stuff. But hey, I’m on a creative high, and I want to share the luv. Sorry for the interruption.

Back to my post:

Writing stuff is solid-cool, branding your writing is the liquid-cool. And it makes you more successful – waaaaaayy more successful. Interested ?

Keep going.

HOW I MAKE LUV

Every article I create is carefully orchestrated, down to the last line – the way I space, use paragraphs and the way I choose my words, it’s all PURE CREATIVE ART, incorporated by Mars Dorian.

It does take quite an effort, especially when English is not your first language, but we all want to create the ultimate experience, don’t we ?

I think that’s a big FAT yeeessss !

  • ARE YOU JUST WRITING OR BRANDING ?

Most people (you NOT included, ;) just write articles on standby , the work is alright, but the original luv’s missing.

Life doesn’t have to be so terrible, especially not if you want to stand-out and create a raving fan base that adores your style and keeps coming back.

Writing is for losers, branding is for rulers. If you fully inhale this post and apply the magic, you will unique-fy your writing (and brand) and further strengthen your authority on the web map.

SOME KICK-ASS TIPS THAT BRAND YOUR WRITING STYLE

  • Frequently use your own (key)words. Do you remember luv, epic, vaporize, delusional and empire ? I hope so, because I’m piercing almost every blog post with them. Having your own set of words is a great branding asset; People will instantly recognize your style. What are your 5 major ones ?
  • Propagate within your writings. Become a little Mao, but in the creative sense. No matter what you read on my blog, you’ll always find the underlying propaganda: Dominating your part of the web with creativity, being ridiculously unique and having an epic and delusional mindset.                                                                                 Can you propagate ? Of course you can, and that’s why you should, beginning from now on !
  • Structure your posts like an artwork. I use cursive styles, bullet points, many bold lines and even more spaces. Not only does it look cool as heck, no, it’s also a mild orgasm on your reader’s eyes. Please don’t just write passages after passages – it’s dull and tiresome. Make it super-easy for your readers to soak up the juicy content. What do you think of this post, do you think it’s clearly structured ?
  • Tone your writing. I’m a very passionate person – I luv the creative fire inside my tummy – and if I don’t digitalize my style via video, I have to adjust the writing to my writing. I often stretch words, like thissssssssssssss to replicate my talking speed, capitalize WORDS for authority purposes and add drama by points…do…you…underSTAND ? How can YOU manipulate words and spaces ?
  • Brand your images. I always use big, vividly colored pics, together with ad-style tag lines that (hopefully) grab your attention and make you smile. On top of that, I usually place my awesome logo on it. Especially when doing guest posts. Can you brand your pics ?

I seriously hope that my blog gives you ENOUGH inspiration to totally brand your writing style, but in case your lust is far higher than expected,  (you hungry beast!), get inspired by some smoking writers who own their style.

Kelly Diels, from kellydiels.com. Beautiful and creative rollercoaster ride of emotions. Very branded. Lots of slang and unique words. Most of the time I don’t understand a thing she’s talking about, but that’s cool, because it’s her way.

Glen, from viperchill.com Long-ass posts, pure writing style, and really awesome awesome way of implementing icons and bullet points. His rare web font, Lucida sans Unicode, makes his posts as slick as mint ice.

Everett Bogue, from farbeyondthestars.com. Very minimalistic, which was to be expected. Long and beautifully crafted posts, with a writing style that’s as clear as Austrian Alp water. I could never write so purely like that, but then again, I am not a minimalist.

TEST:

If you write a post, delete your name and let people read it, would they still be able to recognize your style ? If not, read this post again.

Hey, if a non-English speaker like me can do it, then YOU can do it, and you can do it better. Much BETTER !

Please RETWEET and share this little artwork, and give me YOUR TAKE on this !

Your blogs always seem to make me smile and laugh. Turds, Luv and a mild orgasm. lol Only you could put those all together. I do think I could read your posts anywhere and know it's you. You do a great job at branding yourself. It's epic! Somehow I don't think I could talk about turds in my blog. haha.

    • http://www.marsdorian.com/ Mars Dorian

      Hey Richard,
it's all about the style ;)
Yeah, I do hope you that recognize my style a mile away – that's my daily practice !

I won't lie. I flush my posts out, but I don't think that's inherently makes them crap. Sometimes yes, but other times there's definite value that comes from that.

But don't get me wrong, you're a big help in criticizing those kinds of posts. Your advice has now been downloaded into my system and is awaiting production. Thanks.

Hey Tip, the crap analogy was—crap ;)

It's just about putting your real heart into it and giving it your own, original flavor !

    Hey Mars,

I could have done without the crap visual, but whatever :-)

You could definitely erase your name from this post and I would still recognize it as yours – you are walking your talk and providing great advice about branding.

Hey Karen, yeah – the crap analogy sounded actually cool to me, but re-reading it showed me that it's useless, and that's why I edited out.
I want my posts to be rays of hope.
      Thanks for your opinion

Rays of hope . . . that's beautiful but that's how it can be. You just never know who is visiting your blog and what you might be doing for them. My favorite part of blogging is when some shy person uses the contact form to tell me how something I wrote helped them and gave them confidence to try something themselves. That just makes me melt into a warm, glowing, puddle of joy.

          That's awesome, Jean !

I get those message too, and it brings me the brightest joy !!
It's nice to know that you make a difference, no matter how small !
